Capturing our Country with the Winner of the 2022 Photo Competition: Angie White

We are delighted to announce that the winner of the 2022 Australian Country photography competition is Angie White, from Nyngan in north-western NSW.

The judges selected Angie White for the diversity of her portfolio as well as her eye for capturing both the small details and the big pictures that make this country such an amazing place to live.

Angie White lives with her husband, Gary, on a small farm just out of Nyngan in NSW where they run sheep and cattle. They also have another property 40 kilometres on the Tottenham side of Nyngan. Their kids are grown up and living away.

Gary is an Australian champion sheepdog trialer and travels all over Australia and overseas teaching working dog schools, while Angie goes along when she can. They have just returned from a trip to Switzerland, Sweden and Denmark, where, of course, Angie was rarely without a camera around her neck.
She also writes for the Western Plains App as well as a few magazines including Kickin Up Dust and Far West Living when it was in circulation, Australian Working Stock Dog and Australian Dog Lover. Plus she’s also a dance teacher and owns and runs two dance studios, one in Nyngan and the other in Tottenham, 100km south.

Angie takes photos of pretty much everything and everyone that comes within her line of sight and confesses it has become an obsession. “I am passionate about Australia, it fills my soul,” she says. “Every day is exciting and I love getting up every morning to see what amazing thing is going to come into my day. I may live in the country but I love the pace and hustle of the city when I visit. I like to shoot everything from sunsets and sunrises to animals, buildings, kids and beach scenes. I even have Gary trained to spot good shots and epic scenery. The joy photography gives me is immense. I feel blessed every day to be living in the lucky country.”

Now, sit back and enjoy as Angie White captures our Australian Country through her lens.
